If you’re an old hand at making your own, and they don’t turn out like new material for frizbees, then homemade is the best way to go. However, if you’re like me, storebought is a wonderful alternative. If this is your first pie ever, I’d go with the storebought crust and experiement with your crust recipe at a later date!

If it’s your first pie then I would go with the Pillsbury roll out pie crusts. I’d have to rate them a 10. Even my mom uses them.
HOME CRUST IS ALWAYS BETTER BUT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO COMPLICATE THINGS JUST BUY THE CRUST.
HAPPY THANKS GIVING!
Definately store bought, especially for the first go. Use the Pillsbury dough from the freezer case that you unroll into a pie plate. This tastes great, plus you can shape the edges with you fingers and don’t have the aluminum pan, so you can totally pass it off as home made without anyone calling your bluff.
I have made my own pie crust for more years than I care to count but I have to tell you, my daughter-in-law turned me on to pre-made crust. I LOVE IT! I get a known brand, though I am sure store brands are very good. The point is, pre-made are great!! I do prefer the dairy case type to the frozen. The frozen tend to stick. You have enough stress with the Holiday. Unless you really want to make a “from scratch crust”, get a pre-made one”. It takes a little practice. Save yourself the aggravation…and counter space/flour mess! Maybe you can practice for Christmas or another Holiday.
Happy Thanksgigving!!
Hey why not make a homemade pie that makes its own crust.3/4 c.sugar,2eggs,2t.butter,16oz.can pumpkin,1/2c.Bisquick,2&1/2 t. pumpkin pie spice,13oz.can of evaporated milk, and 2t.vanilla.Mix all well.Put into a 9 inch pie plat, well greased, then pop into a preheated oven at 350.Bake til a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean–about 45-50 mins. Now that’s the way to go.It makes its own crust..Happy Thanksgiving.
